Survey Data Technician

Landpoint is currently looking for an employee with high integrity and excellent organization skills to fill a position as a Data Technician as part of our Special Projects division.

All applicants must have a good knowledge of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Trimble Business Center and Pipeline Module, Excel, and field GPS / Conventional surveying techniques. Applicant will be responsible for pipeline data: organization, scrubbing and quality control, pipe tally and weld map deliverable preparation, and working with field crews and data managers in order to complete projects.

Location will be based in west Texas near Pecos.

Required Qualifications

  • Pipeline as-built surveying experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in pipeline surveying as a data technician
  • Experience with Trimble GPS equipment, Trimble Pipeline Module and Carlson / AutoCAD desktop solutions
  • Experience with the preparation of pipeline survey as-built deliverables including weld map and pipe tally
  • Due to project scheduling and needs, overtime is anticipated and 6-7 day work weeks can be expected at various times throughout the project  


Essential Functions

  • Coordinating client needs with the Project Manager, Data Manager, Field Supervisor and other team members
  • Survey field data quality control/assurance
  • Maintain excellent working relationship with clients and contractors
  • Processing data for crews and field data technicians

Desirable Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Carlson software.
  • Drafting experience
  • ArcGIS database deliverables
